Ivy global does a good job of making practice tests. no nonsense. things to note:- this is just 3 full PSAT tests- no study guides or review material- no explanationsI still recommend. nothing better to prepare for the real thing than lots of practice.

My daughter used this and Barron's PSAT test prep book to prepare for her PSAT. She did not study too much for it but did well, so I think both books are useful. I mostly wanted to help her get used to the format of these tests.14 YO's review:This book was great prep for the preparatory PSAT I took this year. Although it’s not as detailed in its advice as the Barron’s PSAT test prep book, I feel that it is formatted a lot better for someone who already knows what to do for the PSAT and just wants some plain, simple practice tests. I am also extremely glad they decided to put the answers all in the back, instead of on the reverse of the pages after each sections like Barron’s, because you can’t accidentally see answers and ruin the entire section. I would recommend this book for its no-nonsense style and easy-to-use format.
If you have a high schooler, get this book or one like it. It consists of practice tests, plain and simple. And practice is what your high schooler needs for standardized tests like the PSAT. The book includes some information about the PSAT, test strategies, question types, and 3 PSAT practice tests with answers. It does not provide explanations for the practice test answers, but I won’t take off any stars for that because the book is titled “PSAT 3 Practice Tests,†and that’s what we got. Taking practice tests like these are useful in many ways. First, it gives your kids an insight into what they might expect to see on the actual exam, and thus provides familiarity and decreases anxiety regarding the unknown. Second, it’s a gut check for your kids to gauge their PSAT test-taking abilities. And third, but not least, repeated practice can enhance their speed and overall performance. It would be best to use this book in conjunction with any other test prep your kid might have at school or through private preparation courses. Treat those test preps programs as actual training and this book as exercise. I don’t particularly like standardized exams. But for good or bad, it’s the system we’re working with so why not give your kids the best chance?
This book is good practice for my child who will be taking the PSAT. I also have a PSAT book that is more of a study guide with review and explanations. This book touches on what the test will be like, but the bulk of it is the practice exams. It comes with answer sheets to bubble in the answers and the subjects broken down by section. The format, to my understanding, is just like the actual exam.The questions seem to be comprehensive and cover a wide range of material that will be asked. Each section has a time limit for taking it. I had my child take each practice test as if it were really test day. We did this over the course of a month to get an idea of how it will go on the actual test. While it doesn't have detailed answers for the test, we could see definitely pinpoint strong and weak areas and figure out what should be studied most in the coming months. I think this book is a very useful tool for high school students so they are not taken by surprise when the test is placed in front of them.
I like this product, it provides exactly what it says and is well done. The paper is high-quality, and they didn't cheap it out and try to save pages (as AMAZINGLY, some of these products do!) by printing the answer sheets on a page that you actually need for, let's say, the subsequent practice test. I always rip out the answer sheets--you kind of have to, right?--and on this product you can do that and not need to stitch them back into the book later because, you know, the back of one has the start of the next test or something dumb like that.Just to be clear, this is not on any level a study guide. This is just three practice tests, with the answers. NO explanations of the answers, to help you understand why you might have gotten it wrong. Explanations are, of course, incredibly useful. So you should assess the value of this product (how much it costs) versus another product that might have this important feature in mind when deciding what to buy!I certainly can't take away a star for this missing feature though, because the product doesn't claim to offer this feature.
My daughter is a very good student and a hard worker. But occasionally she gets over anxious before tests. With college coming, the biggest tests of her life are ahead of her. That’s where this PSAT book comes in. Taking these practice tests allayed her fears. She knows what to expect now and has proven to herself that she can do it. She was able to gain that confidence by practicing in a non-pressure situation. It has helped her by giving her the confidence of knowing what to expect and by proving to herself that she’s up to the task. Do your kid a favor and have them practice their SAT’s. They will do better when it’s time for the real thing.
It's been quite a few years since I took the PSAT, but it's about time for my son to take it so I've been looking over the various texts available. Barron's was always the best back in my day, and looking over that versus this leads me to believe that's still the case. The Barron's PSAT/NMSQT 19th Edition is about 650 pages and includes the subject reviews necessary to improve in each of the key areas covered by the exam. It also includes two full tests along with answers AND explanations, and then allows online access to two additional full tests. This book, from Ivy Global, costs more, has 237 pages, and while it provides three full tests, it does not provide full explanations for the answers, nor does it provide the subject reviews. Perhaps, in fact, these tests are a more accurate reproduction of what the actual PSAT is like; in that case, it's not a bad addition to the Barron's text, but I wouldn't utilize this one on its own.
